“ZipNest” (hereinafter “the App”) is developed and provided by Shanghai Dazhuo Information Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “we”, “us” or “our”).
The App is a file unzipping, zipping and file management tool that runs entirely on your own device. Privacy has been part of its design from the very beginning, following the principle of “no collection, no upload, no sharing”.
I. Our Commitments
1. The App does not upload any data from your device to the Internet. We do not maintain any server that collects or stores your files.
2. The App has no account system. There is no need to register, to log in, or to provide your phone number, e-mail address, name or any other identity information.
3. The App does not collect any personal information. It does not collect device information, location, contacts or clipboard content, nor does it collect identifiers such as IDFA or UUID that could be used to identify you.
4. The App contains no third-party advertising, statistics or analytics SDK.
5. Unzipping, zipping, archive browsing, file preview, image and video compression and all other features are performed locally on your device, and the results are saved only on your device.
II. What Information We Collect
We do not collect, store, transmit or share any of your personal information or file content.
Because no registration is required, we hold no account information about you. Because the App uploads nothing, our servers hold neither your files nor your usage records.
The following is expressly not collected: name, phone number, e-mail address, identity document information, geographic location, contacts, call records, the content of your photos and files, device fingerprints such as device model and system version, advertising identifiers, and any form of usage log.
III. How Your Files Are Handled
The archives, photos, videos and documents you select are read and processed only on your device, in order to carry out the unzip, zip or preview operation you initiated. We never read, copy, upload or retain your files.
Records created inside the App (such as recents, favourites, unzip and zip history, and your settings) are likewise stored only locally on your device.
IV. Permissions Requested by the App
To provide specific features, the App requests the following system permissions only when you actively use the related feature. Every permission is used solely to complete the corresponding operation on your device, and no data is uploaded:
1. Photos (read): used when you actively select images or videos to compress or pack.
2. Photos (add): used when you save an unzipped or zipped result back to your photo album.
3. Camera: used when you choose “Take a photo” to import a picture.
4. Local network / LAN: only when you actively turn on “WiFi Transfer / WebDAV Transfer” does the App start a local service on your device, so that a computer or another device on the same local network can exchange files with your phone through a web browser. Such data travels only inside your local network — it never goes over the Internet and never reaches our servers. You turn this feature on yourself and may turn it off at any time.
You may revoke any of the above permissions at any time in your system settings. Once revoked, the corresponding feature becomes unavailable, but other features and the App's on-device processing are unaffected.
V. Storage, Retention and Deletion of Information
Since we collect no information at all, there is no storage or retention on our side and nothing to share with or provide to third parties.
Your files and the App data on your device are entirely under your control: you may delete a file or a record inside the App at any time, or remove all local data at once by uninstalling the App.
VI. Disclosure of Information
We do not sell, lease, exchange or otherwise make your personal information or file content available to anyone, because we never collect it.
We will not disclose your information to any third party except where we are required to cooperate with applicable laws or with the statutory procedures of judicial or administrative authorities; where such cooperation is necessary, we will act within the scope permitted by law and will try to inform you in advance.
VII. Privacy of Minors
The App collects no user information, including the personal information of minors. Minors should use the App under the guidance of a guardian.
VIII. Information Security
Because all processing happens on your device, your files never travel over the network to reach our servers, so there is no data that we could obtain or leak in transit.
Please keep your device and passcode safe and keep your system up to date for platform-level protection. We also recommend that you keep separate backups of important files.
IX. Third-Party Services
If you purchase a paid feature or subscription of the App through the App Store, payment, subscription and refunds are handled by Apple. We do not receive your payment card details or your Apple Account information; such information is subject to Apple's privacy policy.
X. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be published on this page together with a new effective date. For material changes, we will give prominent notice inside the App or on this page.
If you continue to use the App after the policy is updated, you are deemed to accept the updated policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the App.
